A Family In Deep

Deeeeeeeeep Thoughts: By Bode

"Mommy mommy mommmy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy?"

"Yes, Bode."

"Choo Choo Train!" [Then repeat 1,000,000 times per day, substituting the occasional truck and ball.]

Deeeeeeeeep Thoughts: By Hadley

Part I: "Mommy, do you wish I could be ice and you could be the water to make me?"

Part II: When driving past Colorado University, I schooled Hadley on the benefits of a good education. After a mind-numbing lecture of how she can study to be anything she wants, I queried,

"So, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

"A princess."

"Gee, that's nice. But what is your back-up plan if the princess gig doesn't work out?"

"A queen."

Deeeeeeeeep Thoughts: By Amber

It was a rare afternoon of leisure. Hadley was at a playdate and Bode was napping.

I sank into Jamie's large leather chair in front of the computer, stretched lazily, reached for a black marker and sniffed, long and deep.

But then I wondered--

Is this normal?

Deeeeeeeeep Thoughts: By Jamie

In Case You Missed It Part I, this was part of the post that I wrote from my deathbed when I had salmonella:

If you don't hear from me for a while, blame the pumpkin. I don't know why. It just seems appropriate. As my last request, I plead with you not to let Jamie put one on my tombstone. Because he's just kind of obsessed like that....

In Case You Missed It Part II, this was the comment Jamie left on my blog:

I actually plan on burying Amber in the big pumpkin. I expect to grow one big enough that she can easily fit inside. That way my two great loves can be together for eternity. What can I say? I'm a romantic. - Hunky Hubby

Side note: we are miraculously not in deep for Labor Day and have absolutely NO PLANS. What are yours?!

Haha. Yes, this is all VERY deep. (I think you all might need a nap... Just sayin'...)

(Oh, and for the record, your son Bode and my son Nathan have the EXACT same deep thought.)

Um, that would have sounded better if I'd said, "exactly the same deep thought." And I get all perfectionistic and paranoid when I'm tired, so I HAD to leave this second comment.

That is all.

My boy's and Bode's deep thoughts are very similar.

I think it would he kind of interesting to be buried in a pumpkin.

We are staying home and not doing too much this weekend. We were going to have guests but they ended up canceling. I think we will just work on come projects around the house.

The queen is my backup plan too if this whole stay at home mom thing doesn't fly! And were my husband to wrap me in his other true love, I'd be buried in a comic book - God help me, he's just started writing a comic blog.

I see down there you have started with Twitter:) I guess I'll be the last . . .

I totally busted up at burying you in a pumpkin. That just makes so much sense somehow! I love it. :)

Labor Day? Meh. We haven't planned anything yet, although BYU football starts Saturday. Yes! GO COUGARS! Not that I'm a fan, or anything.

I love little boys with their trucks and trains. My little one loves to point them out whenever he sees them on the road. It's so great to have one who wants to be a princess and one who makes choo-choo sounds. So cute!

I'm glad to see others have no plans for Labor Day. I always feel so left out when I'm "alone" for holiday weekends. Feels so lonely somehow. We have no plans. I'm mainly bumming around my house, needing to get things done, but so far just watching TV and sleeping and now, finally trying to catch up on blogging.

Oh, the marker sniffing thing - I do that too - ha ha. Love your deep thoughts..and love your family.
